About A.H. Ostmo

Where the pressure of imagination meets the depths of storytelling

Into the Abyss

A.H. Ostmo has always been fascinated by the unexplored corners of our world—and our minds. With a background in marine biology and a passion for psychological thrillers, Ostmo brings a unique perspective to science fiction, grounding fantastical concepts in scientific reality while exploring the depths of human nature.

The Alaster Trilogy emerged from a simple question: What happens to the human psyche when placed under literal and figurative pressure? Seven miles beneath the ocean's surface, where the weight of water could crush you in seconds, Ostmo found the perfect crucible for examining trust, paranoia, and the lengths we'll go to survive.

When not writing about underwater nightmares, Ostmo can be found exploring tide pools, reading research papers on deep-sea biology, and wondering what really lurks in the 95% of our oceans we haven't explored yet.

"The ocean is the closest thing we have to an alien world on Earth. It's hostile, beautiful, and full of mysteries we're only beginning to understand. It's the perfect setting for exploring what makes us human—and what might make us something else."
